Come check out Marty’s Playspace, a play area made out of all natural, locally-sourced material!

Marty’s Playspace

The Idea

Located behind the PieperPower Education Center! Made possible from the generosity of one family whom cares deeply for the natural world and the opportunity for all to find a place to explore and play. Everyone is welcome to climb, jump, and run throughout this area!

Materials

All materials are natural and locally sourced!

-Pressure treated lumber
-Green and White Ash logs harvested from MNP land restoration projects
-Ironwood logs from MNP wood lots
-European Alder from MNP restoration projects
-Lannon Stone from Halquist Stone (located in Sussex, WI)
-Granite Boulders from northern Wisconsin

Structures

You can find: log balance beams, 16 ft dragon fly, a turtle made from stones, log steps, hammock station (bring your own), two small huts, human-sized bird nests, sensory boards, log climbing beam, shaded areas, and rocks to climb and sit on!

Sensory board

A local Eagle Scout made two sensory boards. These boards are aimed to show the different textures that can be found in nature as well as object we use everyday!
